Cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, who sworn in as the Rajya Sabha member on June 4 2012, has taken the first political move, which is as good as his straight six.
Sachin Tendulkar has opted not to stay in the Bungalow(5, Tughlaq Lane) allotted to him by the Indian Government. The allocated Bungalow was opposite to that of Rahul Gandhi's, the Congress General Secretary.
Sachin quoted "I am not keen on staying in any government bungalow, when I will be in Delhi for only a few days. I feel this would be a waste of tax payers money and it would be better if the bungalow is allotted to someone else who needs the bungalow more than me."
The God of Cricket also added, "He will stay in the Hotel every time he is in Delhi" and re-iterated "The honour of being nominated as a Rajya Sabha MP matters much more than the perks and privileges like being given a government bungalow"
After this, there are few things that pops into my head,
1. Can Sachin, who has a clean cricketing career go ahead have an real good impression addressing common man's problem, is this the first and last step or we are going to see many more sixers like this ?
2. Is Sachin, Indirectly initiating a thought for fellow parliamentarians using the terms like 'waste of tax payers money'. (The possiblily also falls this way, fellow parliamentarians can also use this strategy just before elections to come to power to loot again :O)
3. Having the massive support of million Indians, Is Sachin planning his innings for a better political position and power after his cricketing career ? Because, he always plays his cricket innings calculated ! :)
Whatever, may be, At present, his decision not to waste the tax payers money is definitely appreciable.
